WITCH BOOK

Hi All,
Wow, --Sorry about not posting for so long. I started back at work full time last month, and the time just flew by.

Anyway, while working, I've been playing around with the idea of an altered book. I've never done one before, and it was great fun to leave my fabric and trims for a bit, and play with a more 2-dimensional medium. I looked at a few websites, and a few YouTube videos to get the basic idea. I bought an old book at the Goodwill Store ($1.50).

As for the subject of my book -- well, "WITCHES" of course! I found I had collected a large amount of witch images (old photos, vintage Halloween cards, illustrations.....)

Here are some photos. This is the cover. (Well, it seems I couldn't leave all my trims and jewels behind....)

Here are some pages. I painted the original pages with some gesso, then an acid green with acrylics. I had lots of fun playing with paper collage.

Awesome Arley. I bet you had fun with that, it opens up a whole creative expression portal. The best part is when you need a nudge creatively, you can open that amazing book to any page and you'll be inspired.

Love it! I started an altered book with this theme last summer, but didn't get very far. It was such fun, though, and I should get it out and try again after seeing yours!
