This is my first attempt at a "primitive" style doll. I had to research prim dolls to see how they are made. I used beige cotton and tea stained it after it was stitched & stuffed. It didn't change the fabric much, so I went back and used my Dye-Na-Flo inks (diluted with water) to darken it more. It turned out more yellow than I had planned, but I think it works for a witch's skin.
I didn't do any needle sculpting on the face -- This is a flat "pancake" doll. I drew the face on with colored pencils & ink pens. (I used some acrylic paint for the eyes & mouth).
Believe me, it was a struggle NOT to over-embellish her!
The phrase "So Mote It Be" is what Wiccans say at the end of their prayers & wishes.
(BTW - this is not an original design by me. I saw a photo on Pintrest of a doll similar to this. I tried to find the original source of the photo to give them credit, but could not. So, I apologise to the artist who designed it. If anyone knows, please let me know.)
